That steams the rice so it’s no longer hard, and generally heats the musubi up to a more enjoyable temperature.5 stars

I added a fried egg for extra layer and taste. I have found using a medium sandwich bag instead of a food wrap was easier to handle.5 stars

Cut Nori sheets into thirds. Sautéed Spam slices. Assembly using spam can as mold. Yum!! We don’t usually eat spam, but this 1 exception is not to be missed!5 stars

Brent @ FB – You can always use the PIP method for cooking rice in the IP. No sticking whatsoever!5 stars

Well of course I used the Spam Musubi one, but I am super picky when it comes to rice. I prefer Japanese rice, so I referenced their Sushi Rice recipe for the cooking method. I want to be clear that I did NOT make Sushi Rice. Sushi Rice is Japanese rice, but it also has a vinegar mixture added while cooling the rice that I did not want that.
So I want to be transparent that we own 2 rice cookers and that is how I normally do my rice. But I get this question about doing rice in the IP a lot so I wanted to give it a go. Overall I am really impressed with how it turned out (cooked perfect and the rice is shiny like it should be). I do miss the nonstick surface that my rice cooker pot has, but that has nothing to do with the taste and I think the ceramic insert is nonstick so that is an easy fix.5 stars
