So my wife has been kinda tired this week so I made some of Amy Jacky’s black sesame soup and took it over to her at work. It was a big hit everybody loved it, BUT she gave away my Instant Pot to one of her co-workers. I mean really how am I supposed to function with only 2 Instant Pot’s 😵‍💫

Low will take a bit longer, but it will be easier to prevent over-roasting.

My Multicooker only has high or low on sauté option. Should I use low to roast the sesame seeds?

Followed this recipe but I swapped the steps around! I blended the roasted black sesame seeds, rice and water first before cooking! Hehehe, it still turns out very fragrant and super filling!! I think it’s because of the rice used!! So this can be like a full meal! Will add tang yuan next time!! 🤤

Love this Recipe! We put in basically no sugar and substituted a 1:1 ratio of basmati rice to maximize the health benefits (or so we think ), but it still tasted really good !!!!

Made black sesame soup in the instant pot today. I brought both it to my parents house for lunar new year’s eve dinner – it turned out great!! My mom and I were suckers for black sesame soup when I was little…we would share a bowl while my dad was at work. She loved this recipe!!
