Hi Dale,

The sealing ring is quite flexible so you can just push it in.

I can’t believe there aren’t better directions/instructions in all the numerous paperwork for new users – especially ironic in the “New User Manual.” And the pages that show the parts don’t show all of them!!!

All I want to know is HOW TO INSERT THE SEALING RING RACK INTO THE GROOVE ON THE INSIDE OF THE SEALING RING??????? I can’t find any information about what these are and how and where to do this. AARGH!!!!!! Obviously, I can’t use the Instant Pot without this information. So I am still using my oven.

PS: I do know the Sealing Ring is the plastic circle but have no idea how to insert it.

Hi France, YAY!!! So happy to hear that you’ve decided to buy the Instant Pot! 🙂 And so glad you found us!!
Even though our recipes are developed in the 6 quarts Instant Pot, for most of the recipes, you won’t need to divide it in half (as long as the meat fits in your Instant Pot).
For recipes with a lot of liquid such as chili, soups, pasta, congees, or stocks, you’ll need to cut them by half in the 3qt. The cooking time will stay the same!
Feel free to reach out to us if you come across any questions. Hope you & your husband stay well. Have fun cooking with your new Instant Pot France~
Take care,
Amy

Hi Gwen,

thank you for your question 🙂

It is in minute figure.

00:10 means 10 minutes.

1:10 means 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Please take care & stay safe

I’m Gwen, and I have an instant pot, and love it! First of all, I am so happy to have found your site!! Second, I have a stupid question. I haven’t figured out how to read the timer. It looks like it should be a clock, but it starts by putting a number in what I would figure is the hour place. Is it in seconds, minutes, or hours. I have been using it along with another timer. When the my timer says it has been cooking for so many minutes, I just pull out the plug – I count when the instant pot starts counting. Sometimes it shows up correctly, and sometimes it starts in the middle. What am I doing? I have checked on youTube, but nothing shows about the timer.

Thank you so much!

Hi Lillian,

thank you for your question 🙂

The Instant Pot Duo Mini renamed the manual button as Pressure Cook.

Please take care

I had asked this question before but did not receive an answer. Please help to understand it better. I’m still learning how to use the Instant Pot and get frustrated and recipes did not turn out. Thanks

That was my question too. The manual (Getting Started Guide) has as the number 2 thing instructions on how to remove and install the sealing ring. In the illustration it’s red. Very confusing since I have a red one, but a clear one is already installed. That should be more clear.

Hi Carrol,

Sorry for the late reply as we have been recovering from a recent car accident.

Thank you for your question. Can you send a picture to our facebook page?

Happy New Year 🙂
