In reply to Candee Flener. I had the same result today in my second try. First time was perfectly done. I put the same time on the pressure cooker so I notice the difference is my eggs mix with the sugar it was to airy so you really want to mix that by hand or on low speed to not add to much air. My 2 cents :)

Look what I made for dessert! Since there are just the two of us, I made half the recipe. So yummy and decadent! Port goes perfectly with it.

I made these and they turned out perfectly! I only had extra large eggs so I added an extra teaspoon of flour. I made three using 8-ounce dishes and 7 minutes on high then quick release. Worked great! I really appreciate not having to use the oven on hot summer days when we want a chocolatey treat. Thanks Amy and Jacky!

Hi Denise,

thank you so much for your kind words. Lava cake is best served on the same day as the molten can harden after being in the fridge.

You can reheat it to get the molten going again, but heating it too much will completely cook it so watch out for that.

We made the lava cake for this evening supper and it was delicious. I might leave it a min. longer the next time. I do have a question, can it be kept in the fridge for the next day? I have an instant pot 6 qt.

If this is the case, you can reduce the cooking time by 1 – 2 minutes to “undercook” it.

Made this tonight. I used standard ramekins and pressure cooked for 7 min with QR. The cake was delicious and moist but it did not have the fudge gooey center. Not sure what caused that but I’m not a quitter so will try again. If anyone has some advice let me know.

I made this with my Pampered Chef quick cooker. Recommend the 9-minute option for thick Pyrex. I took a little nibble to test for after dinner. Bad move as I’m now eating a before dinner snack lol No way I’m waiting. So good!

Fabulous recipe I made it ahead of time for a dinner party and then cooked it in my 6 quart instant pot Viva whilst we ate our entree. It was perfect and enjoyed by all a definite keeper!
