I did mine for 7 mins and 10min release! Came out fluffy, not glupy and slightly al dente! Great texture! Bland unless you add stuff! I added fresh chopped mint, lemon zest, grated parm and fried shallots! Of course salt and pepper! Would make again🙂4 stars

We grew up eating rice with sugar and milk too. It’s the best!

I used 2 cups of basmati and 2 cups of water minus 4Tbs of water. I did 6 minutes and it came out perfect. I may use 6Tbs less water next time so the grains are even more separate, but we really liked it as is also. I love how much quicker it cooks than my rice cooker.5 stars

For the Basmati, I used the method #5 but with 1 1/8 cup of water and it turned out perfect! Thank you for all your hard work figuring it all out for the rest of us!5 stars

Such great and consistent results, and it couldn’t be easier. I really appreciate the breakdown of test batches. I’ve found my family prefers somewhere between al dente and moist. After rinsing the rice I don’t adjust the water volume for the amount retained from rinsing, and it turns out perfectly every time! I love to make a big batch and put some in the fridge for fried rice later in the week. Thank you for taking the time to do all the testing 🙂5 stars

I’m 41 and I finally made perfect rice for the first time! How is it this easy? I did test 4 and the rice is chewy and tender. You’ve changed my life, lol. I appreciate you all!!5 stars

You might add a 1/2 tsp of oil or butter to the pot before cooking to eliminate it drying out so quickly. I have to do this, too, any time I cook rice. The amount is negligible for the water/rice ratio but it does help with a dryer rice end product.
