Made brown rice for the first time with this recipe using my Instant Pot Duo. 1 to 1 water/rice ratio, 15 minutes pressure, 5 minute slow release – as directed. Perfect! Will never use the stovetop again. Thank you.

I thought this recipe would never work because I thought the liquid was too small but it was perfect. I did the 15 minutes just like the recipe said. It came out perfect because I don’t like it sticky. I also make this for my dog’s food with some meat and lots of sauteed veggies. He loves it! I also like brown rice too and I think this is perfect for a stir fry recipe.

How much time do I need if I want to mix brown and white rice? Let’s say 1:1-1:2 ratio. I am assuming water ratio is still the same.

This worked absolutely perfectly in my mini instant pot, and honestly a much better texture and faster than my Zojirushi rice cooker. I’ll definitely be using this from now on. Thanks for all your hard work testing! It really paid off.
