I’m lucky to live with my MIL who cooks most of our meals but decided to bust out my instapot because I miss Chinese dessert. Can’t believe how easy it was to make! Thank you for the recipe – Red Bean Soup 😋. I added sago and tang yuan to it.

Another great recipe from Amy and Jacky! It tasted great and the instructions are easy to follow. I sautéed it for 20 mins and it thicken up nicely (like how the dessert shops serve it). Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Made red bean soup. Second time, used just one stick of brown sugar. I used immersion blender to break down some of the beans and also blended in some of the softened tangerine peel (we dry our own). We are used to eating peels. Very fragrant.

We like it on the soupy side.

Winter solstice is tomorrow. I was suddenly inspired to have glutinous rice balls 汤圆 in a sweet soup which is a tradition for families to eat together at winter solstice. 汤圆 sounds like 团圆, reunion, so eating them symbolizes the family’s desire to be together. Missing our eldest son who is on the other side of the globe.

Made red bean soup in the IP to go with the peanut-butter filled balls.
